Your Bed & Breakfast at ‘Le Faingot’ farm
La Roque Baignard, close to Cambremer in the Pays d'Auge region

Situated in the very heart of the Pays d'Auge, in a gorgeous valley surrounded by lush countryside, the Faingot farm truly is a bit of a paradise. Sophie Bruneteau, the proprietor of the premises, will welcome you there in her bed & breakfast. Her farm with its centuries old half timber walls is a testimony of the true authenticiy of the Pays d'Auge, and the view from there over the surrounding forests only goes to elevate the charm and beauty. You can therefore enjoy the peace and tranquillity that this valley offers, and relax in a comfortable and warm bed & breakfast where the colourful and well-tended decoration will please your senses.

Against a bucolic backdrop, the narrow Normandy roads wind their way inbetween the apple orchards, and take you to picturesque villages where you can taste a glass of cider. It is there where you will find Sophie's farm. She produces milk, which she transforms into soft, lightly salted butter, and crême fraiche that will delight even the most spoilt tastebuds. You can also indulge yourself and have a delicious breakfast, before you continue your route of discovery through this magnificent and enchanting area.

Locally, the area is known as the "Touraine" of the Pays d'Auge. The surroundings are full of wonderfully playful architecture, notably aristocrat dwellings such as countryside mansions and chateaux, that can be distinguished by the used building materials. It is in one of these houses where the celebrated author André Gide grew up, at the little castle of La Roque Baignard, a building that another writer later took over, Charles Mérouvel.
This way, you can amble along through this beautiful landscape, and discover nicely maintained villages and towns full of history. La Roque Baignard, Cambremer, Beaumont en Auge, Lisieux, Beuvron-en-Auge (protected village), St Pierre sur Dives and Pont l'Eveque all welcome you for enchanting walks. And hardly further afield are the beaches of Deauville, or the older seaside resort of Trouville, if you fancy playing around in the sands of Normandy.
